Whenever Supreme announces a new season, the first thing people usually scroll to check out are the accessories. James Jebbia’s independent skate store is now known for the vast array of weird accessories that it drops each season. As Supreme has grown in popularity over its 25-year history, so too has the strangeness of is accessories.
Over the past two decades, Supreme accessories have become a staple part of the season’s drops and, more often than not, become a major part of the hype. This year was no different, with some of this season’s dumbest Supreme items including a Honda CRF 250R motorbike, a BLU Burner Phone and a 5kg dumbbell.
With the decade about to close out and Supreme’s 25th birthday celebrations officially over, we thought it was about time to pick some of the weirdest Supreme accessories to ever drop. Take a look below at our top 10 weird Supreme items.
Supreme Baoding Balls (FW15)
Baoding balls, otherwise known as Chinese meditation balls, are designed to massage the body and create a sense of calm. However, when Supreme announced that it would be launching its own set of Baoding balls for FW15, the reaction by fans of the brand was less than zen.
Dropping a red and gold velvet box, the Baoding balls featured a small Supreme box logo on the top and inside of the case. The 45mm Baoding balls themselves were made of metal and featured a small Supreme logo engraved. When the drop eventually happened, they were sold out instantly hitting the secondary market soon after.
You can pick the Baoding balls up quite easily today, although they are still a sought after item for any Supreme collector.
Supreme Nunchucks (FW10)
Whilst selling a set of nunchucks to customers who regularly fight at drops may seem like an accident waiting to happen, Supreme didn’t seem to mind when they dropped these back in the fall of 2010.
When Supreme dropped the promotional video for their iteration of a martial arts weapon, it featured a fighting expert putting the nunchucks through its paces. Dropping in two familiar colourways, red/white and black/white, the Supreme nunchucks were one of the most hyped items of the season.
Even now, close to a decade later, this remains one of the weirdest Supreme accessories purely for the strangeness of it. Still, you wouldn’t say that to someone who had a set in their hands, would you?
Supreme Incense Matches (SS17)
You never know when you’re going to impress someone with scented matches. Supreme realised this in the Summer of 2017 and created a solution that would help people light their candles, cigarettes and stoves with some incense matches.
Dropping in four different colours, red/gold, pink/gold, teal/gold and blue/gold, the Supreme incense matches were one of the most obscure Supreme items to drop in the season. It didn’t take long for them to sell out and they make this list of random Supreme items for good reason.
If you are looking for cheap Supreme accessories for sale then you could cop these. They regularly come up on the secondary market for around €10-€20 depending on where you look.
Supreme Liquor Bags (SS07)
New York City has some very strict drinking laws. The city has an “Open Container” law which prevents alcohol from being visibly drunk in public. If you do break this law, you can be hit with a $25 ticket for the inconvenience. Of course, that doesn’t stop citizens of the Big Apple from drinking, just placing their alcohol in brown bags to conceal the crime.
Skaters, of course, are notorious for rebelling and often drink whilst hitting their favourite spots. Thankfully Supreme realised that they could place their box logo brand on these brown bags and make a handy profit whilst doing so. The Supreme liquor bags came in a pack of five and were one of the most simple but effective items on this list.
Of course, these Supreme bags have now become a collectable rather than a single-use item, but its good to know you can flex in Supreme whilst drinking a cold beer on the sly.
Supreme Sand Timer (SS15)
We aren’t really sure why Supreme made a sand timer but for whatever reason, it seems to work. Dropping in SS15 the sand timer was one the cheapest Supreme accessories to release that season.
Encased in see-through plastic with a red perspex logo on the back, the Supreme sand timer is a simple reminder of how the brand can put a box logo on anything and watch it sell out.
Maybe they made it so fans had a visual representation of how fast Supreme box logos sell out? Whatever the reason, this is definitely one of the more random Supreme items to drop over the past two decades or so.
Supreme Meissen Cupid Figurine (SS19)
This may be one of, if not the most expensive Supreme item of all time. As Europe’s oldest porcelain maker, which was founded in 1710, Meissen is one of the world’s finest porcelain manufacturers in the world. Located in the small town of Meissen, Germany, the company sells hand-painted figurines, accessories and dinner sets which retail in the thousands.
For SS19, Supreme created one of the most luxurious items in its 25-year history. A hand-crafted and hand-painted Cupid figurine featured a small white Supreme box logo T-shirt. Retailing at an eye-watering €4198, the Supreme x Meissen figurine sold out and has since become a serious item for Supreme collectors to get their hands on.
It is certainly one of the best Supreme accessories on this list purely for the luxuriousness of it. These are available on the secondary market but considering the retail price, don’t expect to find one cheap.
Supreme Fire Extinguisher (SS15)
This is probably one of the best novelty Supreme items purely because it’s so ridiculous. Whilst we don’t know the full story behind why this item even came into fruition, we do know that it is still one of the most hyped Supreme items from the past decade.
Using Supreme’s familiar red and white colourway, the fire extinguisher is emblazoned in a large Supreme logo. Made in collaboration with Kidde, one of the world’s largest fire safety manufacturers, the Supreme fire extinguisher was an instant sellout when it dropped back in 2015.
Whilst some may think that it could be one of the worst Supreme items on this list, we think this is one of the most unique Supreme items out there.
Supreme Brick (FW16)
This is without a doubt one of the greatest Supreme accessories of all time due to the fact people still talk about it today. When Supreme New York dropped its FW16 item list, one of the first things that people noticed was this simple clay brick with an imprinted box logo taking centre stage.
It created a level of hype that a Supreme accessory had not yet seen before, making headlines across the world once it finally dropped. Costing a mere €30, the Supreme brick would go onto hit eBay for €1,000, making those who weren’t into streetwear why people would pay this for, well, a brick.
The Supreme brick is definitely one of the most obscure Supreme items on this list but its greatness cannot be denied. It’s one of those crazy Supreme items that people want to own. Prices have come down a lot since 2016 and you can get one of these for a fairly good price.
Supreme Money Gun (SS17)
Random Supreme items are a great thing. For many, they epitomise how successful Supreme is because they always sell out. When Supreme announced it would be dropping a money gun, many didn’t know why but they still wanted to get their hands on it.
Supreme’s money gun came in the brands familiar red and white colourway, complete with custom money. The money featured a $1,000 note, a Supreme box logo and a slogan underneath that read “Fuck You, Pay Me”. Retailing at €92, the Supreme money gun quickly sold out and became one of the season’s most hyped items.
The hype around this obscure Supreme item has still not subsided, with people buying one to make it rain whenever they can.
Supreme Sled (FW17)
The Supreme sled is one of those accessories that is simple but very effective. When the sled dropped in FW17, many were a bit surprised but it also didn’t take too long to sell out on release day.
Using Supreme’s classic red and white colourway, the sled is certainly one of the most unique Supreme items on this list. A large white box logo can be found on the base and it would be a perfect item for New York’s snowy winters.
Although it may not be completely weird, it still is a strange Supreme accessory to make it to this list.
