Over the past four years, Sean Wotherspoon has gone from a relatively unknown store owner to one of the most influential people in streetwear. The Round Two founder famously won the Nike Vote Forward campaign in 2016. His Nike Air Max 1/97 SW VF (or simply “Wotherspoons”) made him a hit overnight. After announcing he would no longer be working with Nike last year, Wotherspoon has been busy working with ASICS and adidas. Now, it looks like he may have another adidas collab in the works.
Whilst details are still fairly slim, Sean Wotherspoon took to Instagram last night to reveal a second adidas sneaker captioned “#2.” Following on from his “SUPEREARTH” Superstar, a sneaker made entirely of vegan materials, it looks like Wotherspoon has created an entirely recycled ZX8000. Though there is only one image, sneakerheads have been quick to deduct a few key takeaways.
The simple heel shot shows off a number of unique details. Firstly, the upper uses a rough-hewn textile and is dressed in an almost auburn colour, with tan, red and green plaid sits below the collar. Underneath this plaid is a large “SUPEREARTH” stamp followed by an embroidered SW logo in neon green just above. Lastly, a translucent heel cage features frayed threads, a detail that is shared with the upcoming Superstar.
Whilst the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Superstar has not yet released, it looks like we could have another sneaker to look forward to. Check out the image below and let us know if you’ll cop these adidas Wotherspoons.
