For close to 30 years, BAPE has remained a constant in the global streetwear scene, if not one of the main components of its success. Founded in 1993, BAPE’s classic APE print has been spotted on everyone from Justin Bieber to Kanye West. It seems as though the brand is ready to turn up the heat once again for 2020 with its latest offering.
One of BAPE’s hottest drops is scheduled to drop in the coming months. A clever reinterpretation of its APE motif sees a graphic quite literally in flames. The latest drop features APE heads amongst a fire backdrop; a twist that has not yet been used by the Japanese streetwear label. Although APE is no stranger to using flames in its work, this marks the first time that a graphic like this.
Dropping in two colours, orange and blue, the latest BAPE FLAME print adorns hoodies, skateboards and even socks. A set of black jeans uses flame prints across the leg as well as two flaming APE heads on the rear pockets. The orange hoodie featured in BAPE’s SS20 campaign and was an instant hit with the community. Hardcore BAPE fans have had their clothing flame lit on this release, that’s for certain.
Given the growing popularity of the flame camo, you can expect this to appear on future BAPE releases. Stay tuned to the KLEKT Blog for more information about this upcoming release.
