Ah, Palace. A jewel in the crown of UK streetwear, the independent skate store founded in 2009 by Lev Tanju has grown exponentially in just over a decade. Started in a dilapidated flat in Waterloo, London, Palace is now worn by the likes of Rihanna and Jay-Z. As Palace has only grown larger, so has the hype surrounding its collections. Thankfully, we have not been let down for SS20, with Palace taking their same skate attitude into the new season.
As you would expect, Palace has cooked up a storm behind the scenes. A well-balanced collection sees all-over graphic prints contrasted with simple everyday items such as jeans. The juxtaposing combination sees faux snakeskin leather jackets paired with cargos and a cream jumper. However, there are also a few bold statement pieces thrown in for good measure.
A white zip-up jacket is adorned with embroidered graphics, one of the takeaway items of the season. One of the biggest eye-catching pieces is a green wool cardigan. Finished with darker green Palace graphics in gothic style writing, this is not one to wear lightly.
Palace has clearly experimented ith materials more this season than before. Wool, leather, GORE-TEX, and heat reactive materials are all on offer. A wide range of accessories such as bags and hats are also on offer, each with their own unique details.
The same focus of creating something for everyone is on show, however. Following on from their largely successful line of staples, Palace has made sure that items for every day are available. This is certainly one of the strongest drops that the brand has had so far.
