Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'Somos Historias' for Día de los Muertos

Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'Somos Historias' for Día de los Muertos

Most Día de los Muertos sneakers lean on bright marigold orange, sugar skulls and papel picado prints. The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG 'Somos Historias' (2026) goes the other way. It is brown, earthy and built almost entirely on texture, and it arrives on 13 October 2026, just under three weeks before the holiday itself.

The pair surfaced unexpectedly on SNKRS Mexico, and the campaign images place it next to a Xolo, Mexico's national dog. Once you see the two side by side, the palette makes sense.

Suede, Texture and a Numbered Tongue Tag

The base is a light chocolate suede, with shaggy, longer-haired suede on the heel and around the lace stay. The overlays carry a pitted finish rather than smooth leather, so almost every panel has a different feel under your hand. A small Swoosh sits on the forefoot, while the main Swoosh on the side is woven rather than stitched leather.

The quarter panel is debossed, and the midsole picks up a light teal blush that ties back to the Cool Water trim around the shoe. It is an unusual choice on an Air Jordan 1 Low OG, and it is the detail that stops the pair from reading as just another brown sneaker.

Inside, a tongue tag numbers each pair out of 5,036. The box gets its own treatment too, with a weathered concrete print and an oversized Wings logo.

Jordan Brand's Día de los Muertos Line

Jordan Brand has quietly built up a yearly run of Día de los Muertos releases, and most of them never got the attention they deserved outside Mexico. The colourful Air Jordan 1 Mid 'Dia De Los Muertos' (2020) was one of the earlier entries, and last year's Air Jordan 1 Low 'Somos Eternos' (2025) continued the 'Somos' naming that the 'Somos Historias' now picks up.

Alongside the holiday pairs, the brand has also looked after its Mexican fanbase with Independence Day colourways such as the Air Jordan 3 'El Vuelo' (2025). Together they form one of the more interesting regional lines Jordan Brand runs, because each pair is designed for one audience first.

If you want to go further back, the wider Nike and adidas Día de los Muertos releases are worth a look too.
