A few months ago, images of Patta’s new collaboration on the Nike Air Huarache started to circulate through sneaker news sites. This collab takes the classic 90s model to a whole new place, swapping out the OG sole unit for the Pegasus 40’s modern Zoom Air technology.
Since the first images broke we haven’t just seen more colourways, but we now know that this may be Patta’s biggest collaborative project since their Air Max 1 ‘Waves’ series. These updated Air Huaraches are launching alongside a collection of clothing celebrating Patta’s Running Team.
The Patta Running Team was first launched in 2010 by Patta’s co-founder, Edson Sabajo. Originally, Sabajo saw the team as a way to motivate his friends, but since then it has grown into one of the most notable running clubs in Patta’s home of Amsterdam, with a second chapter in Rotterdam. The Patta Running Team does everything from exploring the scenic routes of their cities to taking part in 40k challenges like the one they ran last September.
Patta’s upcoming collab with Nike puts the Running Team centre stage. The clothing selection features everything a runner might need, including tracksuits, shorts, tees, leggings, and vests. For something more casual, this collection also features a stylish black and yellow varsity jacket showing off Patta’s panther logo on the back.
The colours used on these pieces tie together perfectly with the three sleek colourways used on Patta’s new Air Huaraches. The three colourways are ‘White’, ‘Black’, and ‘Saffron Quartz’.
This Nike x Patta Running Team capsule is set to drop on the 26th of April. Be sure to check for listings on KLEKT if you miss out on the retail release.
