Yuto Horigome Gets His Own Nike SB Air Force 1 Low

Nike SB has taken its time with the Air Force 1. Rather than put a skate version out and hope for the best, the team rebuilt the shoe from the inside, sinking the foot deeper into the footbed, reinforcing the upper where a board hits it and rebuilding the cushioning for landings rather than for standing around. The launch came with an East Coast tour, a video and a zine, and no rider colourways at all.

That changes with the Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Air Force 1 Low. It is the first team rider colourway on the silhouette, and it does something the skate Air Force 1 has not done before.

A Skate Air Force 1 in Leather

Yuto covers the upper in leather, a first for the SB version, in a mix of white, grey and Coconut Milk. The palette is quiet by collaboration standards. There is no loud graphic, no contrast Swoosh and no story printed across the panels, just a material that most skate shoes avoid because it is heavier and less forgiving than suede.

Leather on a skate shoe is a trade. It holds its shape longer and resists shredding on grip tape, but it does not breathe. Nike SB handled that by switching the side panels to mesh, which matters more here than on a normal Air Force 1 because the usual toebox perforations have been removed. Take the holes away and the air has to come from somewhere else.

Yuto's feather logo sits on the heel, and that is close to the extent of the personal branding. A second Yuto pair is already on the way, more limited, with red accents and a laser-etched upper. That makes the restraint on this one look deliberate rather than accidental.

Why Yuto Got the First One

Nike's choice was not a difficult one. Yuto Horigome has been part of the SB team for years, with the rare combination of respected video parts and a contest record that includes Olympic gold in street skateboarding in both Tokyo and Paris. He already had Dunks behind him, which made him the obvious person to hand the first Air Force 1 to.

Both of those are worth putting next to the new pair. The Nike SB x Yuto Horigome Dunk Low 'Grey' from 2023 was the quieter of the two and has aged well for it. The Nike SB x Yuto Horigome Dunk Low 'Matcha' from 2025 went the other way with colour. Line all three up and the pattern is clear enough: Yuto does not repeat himself, and none of them shout.

The full Yuto Horigome collection is on KLEKT, and new pairs land on that page as sellers list them. It is the quickest way to see everything he has done with Nike SB in one place.

Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Air Force 1 Low Release

The Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Air Force 1 Low releases on 12 September 2026 through selected skate shops, in unisex sizing. The style code is IO8439-100 and the official colourway is White/Iron Grey-White-Coconut Milk-Washed Coral-Photon Dust.

Skate shop releases behave differently to a general Nike drop. Stock is spread thin across independent stores rather than concentrated in one raffle, which usually means smaller numbers per door and a much shorter window. If you are not standing outside a skate shop that morning, the resale market is the market.

That is where KLEKT comes in. The Nike SB x Yuto Horigome Air Force 1 Low is already live on the site.
