When Jordan Brand dropped an Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Varsity Red” last year, the sneaker community got excited. The updated take on the iconic “Bred” colourway was extremely limited, but one of the most underrated pairs that released in 2020. However, it doesn’t look as though Team Jordan are done with the “Varsity Red” theme just yet. In fact, several sources are now claiming that a “Varsity Royal” Air Jordan 1 is planned for 2021.
Whilst not much is actually known about the sneaker just yet, the news has been enough to get the sneaker community excited. No official images have been leaked just yet, just the colour scheme: “Black/White/Varsity Red”. With many fans hoping that this is the return of the iconic “Chicago” Jordan 1, there are some doubters. Some suspect that this will, in fact, be the Air Jordan 1 High “Bloodline 3.0”, continuing the 2019 AJ1 range.
For now, we don’t have much to go with this sneaker. All we can do is just sit tight and wait to see what drops later this year. With a Fall/Winter 2021 release date scheduled, we’ve got a while yet. As always, check back to KLEKTIVE where we’ll keep you updated on this upcoming AJ1 release.
