In Japanese streetwear, few people are as influential as Hiroshi Fujiwara. The fragment design founder has been at the core of Japanese fashion since the early 90s. His work with Nike helped introduce the Swoosh to an entirely new consumer. Since Fujiwara’s collaboration with Jordan Brand in 2014, the Tokyo native has been eagerly waiting to give sneakerheads more designs. Thankfully, a new one could be on the way.
Unveiled by Fujiwara himself, the fragment design head honcho has unveiled an upcoming collaboration with Jordan Brand. The silhouette had been seen back in May, but now we have a much more detailed look the sneaker.
Named the “Air Cadence” on Fujiwara’s Instagram page, the news is certainly exciting. Featuring a very simple colour scheme, the upcoming fragment design x Jordan uses a grey upper in varying shades. Premium materials like suede are contrasted by basic mesh, with discrete branding used throughout. A large fragment thunderbolt sits underneath a suede overlay, as well as on packaging. Interestingly, this sneaker looks to use much of the same tooling as the Jordan Delta; Jordan Brands foray into Zoom and Air cushioning technology on its sneakers.
If you’re looking to cop these fragment design Jordans, you’ll have to wait a little longer. For now, we have no news on a release date nor retail price. Given the timing of the post, however, we’re optimistic these will release sooner rather than later. Check out the images and let us know if you’ll cop these fragment Jordans.
