Back in 1991, Michael Jordan was on his way to winning his first NBA Championship with the Chicago Bulls. On his feet that year was the Air Jordan 6, a sneaker that has since become one of the most important shoes in MJs career. Since then, the AJ6 has been kitted out in a number of colourways and seen some hyped collaborations. However, sometimes it’s hard to beat the return of a classic. Thankfully, we will be seeing one iconic Air Jordan 6 return next year; the Carmines.
Originally released in 1991, the “Carmine” Air Jordan 6 has remained a favourite amongst sneakerheads everywhere. The classic colourway rose to fame because of the colour blocking it shared with the Chicago Bulls. According to early reports, the sneaker will be reissued to celebrate the 20th anniversary. Featuring the familiar combination of red and white on the nubuck upper, the shoe will return in its OG form.
That means the same cut, height and colour scheme, as well as the classic “Nike Air” branding on the back. Having been reissued in 2008 and in 2014, sneakerheads have had to wait a long time for the return of the Carmine AJ6. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait that much longer.
Reports suggest that the Carmine AJ6 will return in January 2021 in full family sizing. Check out the 1991 version below and let us know if you’ll cop these Jordan 6s.
