Being inducted into the Jordan Brand family is an honour that very few athletes are able to achieve. In the world of basketball, that deal is as lucrative as getting a Nike signature athlete deal. Whilst many players may rock Jordans, becoming a part of the family is a different story. One of those lucky enough to make it as a Jordan Brand member was Luka Doncic. Late last year, the Dallas Mavericks forward signed with Jordan. Now, he has his first Air Jordan 1 sneaker releasing this week.
Keeping things relatively simple, Doncic’s Air Jordan 1 Mid uses a crisp white leather upper as the base. Alternating colours have been used on the Swoosh and outsole, meaning that the shoe is a mismatch altogether. A combination of light green and rich purple on the respective sneakers help to add a splash of colour to this relatively neutral AJ1. On the heel, the words “Breathe & Center” and “Center & Breathe” have been applied, a knowing nod to Doncic’s pregame ritual.
