For the past 25 years, the Jordan 11 has remained one of the most important sneakers in history. After being debuted by Michael Jordan in 1995, the Air Jordan 11 instantly caught the attention of the sneaker community. Tinker Hatfield’s crazy design featured patent leather, making for a sleek looking sneaker. Now Jordan Brand is looking to commemorate the AJ11 turning quarter of a century with a special edition sneaker later this year.
Keeping things relatively simple, Jordan Brand has kitted out the Air Jordan 11 in a familiar black, white and silver colourway. A combination of black mesh, soft leather and patent leather sets the tone for this luxury looking shoe. Using silver accents on the lace eyelets, the word “JORDAN” graces each lace loop, the first time Jordan Brand has done this. Arguably the most eye-catching detail is the raised Jumpman finished in silver.
On the heel, a silver “23” can be seen for good measure. However, the use of a Jumpman on the insole and the number “25” is a new addition. It looks as though Jordan Brand is ensuring people remember this 25th anniversary. Finishing the sneaker off is a white midsole and white outsole, with the traditional carbon fibre on the midfoot.
If you’re looking to cop these AJ11s, you have a little longer to wait. The Air Jordan 11 “25th Anniversary” will launch in the holiday season for €220. Check out the first images below and let us know if you’ll pick up these Jordans.
