There are few Air Jordan 4 colourways as memorable as the “Fire Red.” Originally released in 1989, the “Fire Red” Air Jordan 4 is one of the most celebrated sneakers in Jordan Brand history. However, it has rarely been re-released. Since its initial drop over 30 years ago, the Jordan 4 “Fire Red” has only been reissued two times, once in 2006 and once in 2012. That all looks to be changing this year. Officially revealed by Nike, the Fire Red AJ4 is coming back later this year.
Whilst details are still just emerging, Nike has confirmed that the Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” will be dropping in 2020. After loading the story onto the SNKRS App, Nike has given us the first glimpse of this year’s retro. Taking the familiar combination of white leather with red, black and grey accents, Nike is bringing the shoe back in its true OG form. With that in mind, there is also a “Nike Air” on the heel tab; the first time that Nike has used this detail on an AJ4 Fire Red retro.
As for now, the rumoured release date has been set for November 27th (Black Friday) but there has been no official retail price. This news is already causing quite the stir in the sneaker community, as you can imagine. Hopefully, Nike decides to make this a big retro so that sneakerheads everywhere can be like Mike.
