There has always been a strong affiliation between Jordan Brand and the University of North Carolina. As the former school of Michael Jordan, the UNC Tar Heels have been treated to various PEs and limited sneakers. Back in November 2018, the players were treated to an exclusive Air Jordan 3 UNC PE. It made headlines when players were fined for selling their pairs for thousands. Now, it looks as though we are getting treated to a version all of our own.
Using the same details as the scandal pair, the Air Jordan 3 “UNC” is constructed using a premium white tumbled leather. Hits of cement print can be seen on the heel and mudguard of the shoe. Powder blue accents on the eyelets and heel unit give the shoe its school vibe. On the back, the famous Jumpman logo can be spotted on heel, with a crisp white midsole and grey outsole rounding things off. The big difference between the PE and the retail pair, however, is the tongue.
Whilst the Tar Heel players may have been treated to their school logo on the tongue, the rest of us will not. A large powder blue Jumpman has been used instead, with the message behind the tongue also changing.
Rumoured to drop on March 7th, you can expect these Air Jordan 3s to be one of March’s biggest drops.
