It’s no secret that Nike is going big on its Space Hippie technology this year. Since debuting to the world back in February, the Space Hippie ethos has slowly made its way onto a number of classic Nike silhouettes. From Air Jordan 1s to Dunks, recycled materials have been draped across some of the best sellers in Nike’s history. Now, it looks as though we could be seeing another iconic Nike shoe get the same treatment: the Air Max 1.
Although news of the Space Hippie-inspired Nike Air Max 1 NRG is not new, we’ve not yet seen official images. Thankfully, that has all changed. Nike has now given us an official look at the upcoming shoe. Featuring a predominantly white leather base, the shoe is contrasted with a black mudguard and recycled fabrics on the uppers. A balance of red and light blue overlays feature a crisp white Swoosh with blue embroidery. The heel boasts a neon “Nike Air” label, whilst the tongue uses a slick blue version of the same logo. A clean white midsole and outsole bring things to a close, finishing off a great looking AM1
If you like the look of the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 NRG “Space Hippie,” then there’s good news. The shoes are set to release at some point this month for around €140. The Air Max 1s will most likely drop via Nike and select retailers, so keep your eyes peeled. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Air Max 1s.
