Since first launching in 1973, the Nike Blazer has remained a cultural icon for almost 50 years. Its versatility both on and off the court meant it was adopted by the streets. In recent years, the Nike Blazer Mid has had a resurgence in popularity due to collaborations with Off-White™ and sacai. For 2020, Nike has been ushering in a whole host of new colourways with resounding success. Now it looks as though we could be seeing a READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid drop later this year.
The Japanese label, founded in 2013 by Yuta Hosokawa, READYMADE has worked with the likes of Fear of God in just seven years. For its collaboration with Nike, READYMADE is looking to reimagine the Blazer Mid from the ground up. The most obvious detail on this Blazer Mid is the distorted Swoosh, completely transforming the shoe entirely. Dressed in bright orange, the Swoosh is longer and thinner than a traditional Swoosh, reaching up towards the laces.
Moving on, a camouflage detail can be seen on the ankle, collar and tongue, with black nubuck creating a nice base to work against. Updated heel tabs feature “READYMADE” with three Swooshes creating a recycled sign. Another key feature on this shoe is the midsole section and toe which have a textural effect on there.
As for now, we don’t have much information on this upcoming Blazer. However, the “Black/Vast Grey/Volt/Total Orange” pictured above is enough to get us excited. Two other colourways, “Persian Violet” and “Pure Platinum,” are also rumoured to drop too. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Blazers.
