There are few brands on the planet with as diverse a portfolio of sneaker collaborations than COMME des GARÇONS. The brainchild of Rei Kawakubo, CDG has worked with the likes of Nike, ASICS and Converse. In that time, it has garnered fans from various pockets of sneakerheads across that globe. Earlier this week, we got a closer look at the upcoming COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Foamposite One for FW21. Well, that doesn’t look to be the only CDG sneaker collab dropping this year.
Just days after the CDG Foamposite was revealed, we now have a closer look at the COMME des GARÇONS x New Balance 57/40. Draped in the brands familiar all-black ensemble, the CDG x New Balance 57/40 is certainly stealthy. A mixture of suede, ripstop nylon and GORE-TEX all come together to create a premium looking NB silhouette. As always, there are minimal signs of branding on this collab. The only hint of who the collaboration is by can be seen on the tongue with “CdGH New Balance 57/40”, working perfectly against the triple black “N” motif on the midsection.
If you like the look of the upcoming COMME des GARÇONS x New Balance 57/40 then you’ve got a while to wait. As a sneaker from the recent FW21 show, these will most likely release towards the end of the year. All we can do now is sit and wait. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll cop these New Balance sneakers.
