Salehe Bembury is without a doubt one of the most influential people in footwear right now. The Vice President of Sneakers and Men’s Footwear at Versace, Bembury’s career spans everyone from Yeezy to Cole Haan. Over the past few years, Bembury’s work at Versace has been undeniable. So much so that his footwear designs have become some of the most sought after in fashion. After being revealed back in June, we now have a much closer look at the upcoming Salehe Bembury x New Balance.
Taking the New Balance 2002, Bembury has applied a rather vibrant aesthetic to this chunky dad silhouette. A combination of orange and maroon is a contrasting yellow mesh. The addition of a furry purple “N” motif is a nice touch too, with the N-ERGY cushioning system breaking this bold New Balance up nicely. The split coloured midsole features white and maroon, with speckled detail adding another texture to this collab.
Whilst the shoes themselves are great, the packaging is what has got us really excited. A mountain landscape can be seen on the top, with a large “NB” sketched into a rock face. With this sneaker being called “Peace Be The Journey,” the idyllic setting depicted on the box has already set this New Balance 2002 off to a good start.
As for now, there is no official release date on the Salehe Bembury x New Balance collaboration. Unfortunately, we’ll just have to sit tight for more release information on this exciting sneaker. Check out the on-foot images below and let us know if you’ll cop these New Balance.
