There have been rumours of a Supreme x Emilio Pucci collection for most of SS21. Various streetwear forums and Instagram accounts have been drip-feeding information in, but many have waited for official confirmation before getting excited. When whispers of kaleidoscope box logos started, however, people really got excited. Now, after much debate, Supreme and Emilio Pucci have officially confirmed their collaboration.
For those not in the know, here’s a brief history lesson of Emilio Pucci. Born into one of Florence’s oldest and most noble families, the late designer made a name for himself in the late 1940s by creating a streamlined ski outfit. After opening a shop in 1950, he began to experiment with colours and patterns in his clothing. It wouldn’t take long for his womenswear designs to become some of the most groundbreaking in fashion.
Throughout the ’50s, his collections were celebrated for their modern approach to women’s wear. His signature vibrant colours and kaleidoscope patterns earned him the nickname “The Prince of Prints” and for good reason. The rich culture of his beloved Mediterranean allowed him to draw inspiration from culture, nature and history. Upon his passing in 1992, the brand continued to push on and keep his signature aesthetic alive.
For its collaboration with Emilio Pucci, Supreme has truly gone all. The collection features archival prints Tulipani (1965) and Fantasia (1970), both of which are as colourful as can be. Both prints are used across a Smoking Jacket, Sport Jacket, Long Sleeve Shirt, Short Sleeve Shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, Soccer Jersey, Sport Pant, Sweatpant, Box Logo T-shirt, Sunglasses, 6-Panel, Belt and Zippo lighter.
If you like the look of the Supreme x Emilio Pucci collaboration then get ready. The entire range will release on June 10. The three-box logos are arguably the highlight, so don’t be surprised if they’re an instant sell-out. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop any Supreme x Emilio Pucci.
