In New York, there are a few things that are as intertwined with the city’s culture as the skyscrapers and tourist attractions. Whether it’s a dollar slice of pizza or the busy subway, certain parts of the city are institutions. One of those institutions is Kith. Founded by Ronnie Fieg in 2011, Kith has become one of the most important pillars in New York fashion. When you look at the man behind the brand, you can easily see why.
Over the past few months, we have slowly seen the relationship between Kith and Nike bloom. After Ronnie Fieg revealed a Tokyo exclusive Air Force 1 last month, as well as an F&F pair last year, sneakerheads have been patiently waiting to see what else comes from Kith x Nike. With rumours swirling about another Kith x Nike Air Force 1 next year, it seems there is definitely more in the pipeline. However, it looks as though we could be seeing one a little bit earlier than 2021.
With the Nike Air Force 1 (or Uptown to Big Apple residents) being such a key sneaker in NYC fashion, Kith and Nike are giving the residents of the city an exclusive version. Whilst details are still emerging, images of the leaked sneaker have surfaced online. A black leather upper is contrasted by the gradient red and blue Swooshes. An “NYC” is can be seen embroidered on the rear panel, with “Kith Air” replacing the traditional Nike.
Other unique details on this upcoming Kith Force 1 include a matching gradient tongue tag. The Kith logo can be seen beneath a Swoosh, a nice co-branded feature. Subtle details like the “Kith” branded lace dubraes are a nice touch too, showcasing the style of the city itself. The crisp white midsole unit is the ode to the OG, whilst the icy blue outsole finishes this sneaker off.
If you’re looking to cop these Kith x Nike Air Force 1s, you’ll have a little longer to wait. For now, the rumoured release date is set for Fall 20. There are also rumours that a white version of the sneaker is also in the works too. Check out the leaked images of the sneaker below and let us know if you’ll cop these AF1s.
