It is difficult to get denim sneakers right. Whilst many have tried, many have also failed. In recent years, we have seen a dramatic uplift in the popularity of denim over at Nike. From Levi’s Air Jordan 4s to denim-clad Air Force 1s, it seems that the denim sneaker trend isn’t going away anytime soon. One denim sneaker, in particular, has caught the attention of the sneaker community in 2020; the Nike SB Dunk Low PRM Sashiko.
Featuring a clever combination of denim and suede, this upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low is already looking like a premium shoe. The well-balanced panelling features a light blue suede which is contrasted by indigo denim on the midsection and heel. However, it is the Sashiko embroidery throughout that adds a never before seen texture on an SB Dunk.
The Swoosh is completely embroidered using the traditional Japanese technique. This creates a smooth effect on the sneaker, adding a subtle detail throughout. Other notable elements on the Sashiko Dunks include the stitched tongue tag, replacing the traditional large one. A set of cream laces helps to colour, with a matching midsole and gum outsole bring this Dunk to a close.
If you’re looking to get your hands on these, you better be quick. The sneakers drop on August 1st with a retail price of €100. Check out the official Nike images below and let us know if you’ll cop.
