For over 30 years, Slam Jam has been a bridge between the worlds of fashion, music and street culture. Founded by Luca Benini in 1989, Slam Jam was in streetwear way before streetwear was even a thing. During that time, it has become a pillar of European fashion, creating a legacy for itself that reaches far beyond its Ferrara headquarters. Having collaborated with Nike a number of times, it now looks as though the relationship is set to continue this year with two Dunk Highs.
Originally rumoured back in May, the Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High has not been since the news broke. The two have, in fact, done well for samples not to surface at all over the last four months. Thankfully, we now have our first and an official look at the upcoming Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High sneakers which will release in two colourways.
Both Dunks feature simple construction, with “White/Clear-Pure Platinum” and “White/Clear-Black” being the official colours. A combination of suede and leather has been used on both shoes, with clear detailing being used on the Swoosh and heel tab. Dunk fans will also notice that these Slam Jam x Nike Dunk Highs have a few additions not found on regular pairs. For one, holes have been punctured into the midsection and an upside down tongue tag has also been used.
If you like the look of the Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High collaboration, then there’s good and bad news. The “White/Clear-Pure Platinum” will release exclusively on Slam Jam and Nike SNKRS on October 3rd. This is the more limited pair of the two with the “White/Clear-Black” getting a wider release. Both pairs will retail for just €120 too. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Nike Dunks.
