Ah, the movie theatre (or cinema to non-North Americans). Sticky floors, overpriced drinks and that one guy who always seems to cough throughout the entire film. It’s been a minute since any of us have had a chance to visit the movie theatre, but that hasn’t stopped Nike from cooking up an Air Force 1 that’s perfect for when we can return. Called the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Popcorn”, you can probably understand why this AF1 pops.
Taking inspiration from the good old movie theatre, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Popcorn” is certainly a sweet treat. A coconut milk base gives the shoe the desired “Popcorn” effect, complete with contrasting white detailing on the Swoosh, inner and laces. A crisp white sole is matched perfectly with a buttery colour to hammer home the Popcorn AF1. However, it’s the subtle details on this Air Force that really make it what it is
An updated tongue tag features red and white stripes reminiscent of a popcorn bag and a remixed “Nike Air”. On the heel tabs, this same film style “Nike” has been embroidered, working perfectly with a gold “Fresh Since ’82” on the rear panel. The custom insoles feature popcorn imagery working perfectly with a gold hang tag rather cutely shaped like a piece of popcorn.
Right now there’s no concrete release information on the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Popcorn”. Sources claim that these will drop in spring for around €110 but that is yet to be confirmed. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these AF1s.
