There is no denying that the sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle was one of the hottest sneakers of last year. After being previewed back in January during Paris Fashion Week, it didn’t take long for the silhouette to take the sneaker world by storm. Though we’ve seen several releases since then, Chitose Abe’s sacai label seems far from stopping just yet. After leaks of the “Dark Iris” began surfacing back in August, we now have official imagery of the upcoming colourway.
Taking a lighter approach to the spring months, the sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle “Dark Iris” is already looking like a must cop. A combination of purple nylon and matching suede gives the shoe a royal look and certainly make for an eye-catching base. Orange leather accents on the Swoosh and heel tab create a nice contrast, whilst a white midsole unit, inner and tongue adding a nice balance. Double stacked detailing comes as standard and can be seen on the tongue, Swoosh, midsole and laces. Bright orange insoles, complete with purple branding, bring the shoe to a close. Thankfully, extra laces in purple and white come as standard too!
If you like the look of the sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle “Dark Iris” then sit tight. As it stands, the pair is scheduled to release some time in spring for €180.
