Although the Air Jordan 1 KO “Chicago” may not be one of the more popular styles of the AJ1, its historic importance is well-known. Originally launched back in 1986, the shoe was Nike’s attempt to put a fresh spin on the widely popular Jordan 1. Despite the shoe not quite making it as a smash hit for Nike, it has remained a cult classic for almost 40 years. After a long hiatus, it now looks as though Jordan Brand has plans to bring the pair back in the OG “Chicago” colourway.
Straight off the bat, there are some big differences between the traditional Air Jordan 1 and the KO. Ditching the familiar leather panelling for a much lighter canvas option, the AJ1 KO is noticeably different. The same combination of white, red and black adorns the shoe throughout, with canvas and leather coming together on this Jordan. Replacing the traditional Wings logo is an updated version with “AJKO” instead of “Air Jordan” too. Finally, a sail midsole and red sole bring this Jordan 1 to a close, giving the AJ1 KO the retro it so rightly deserves.
If you like the look of the Air Jordan 1 KO “Chicago” then there’s good news. According to sources, the pair will drop on May 12th for €140. Given the hype around OG Jordan models, you can expect this to be a big hit with older collectors. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Air Jordan 1s.
