We’ve seen a number of great collaborations this year, but the First Avenue x Nike SB Dunk Low may just be one of the simplest we’ve seen. In an industry where it’s all about creating wild pairs, sometimes it’s nice to strip things back. First Avenue has really nailed this collab, but there’s also another reason this could be one of our favourites. According to the store, the upcoming sneaker is inspired by one of the greatest musicians of his generation, Prince.
Yes, the artist formerly known as Prince who would eventually become, urm, Prince. First Avenue has gone for a slick look on its SB Dunk. A black leather upper features multiple texture leathers to give it a distinctive look throughout. Faux brickwork can be seen on the heel panel and comes complete with a silver embroidered star at the bottom. 3M reflective detailing on the heel and midsection also stands out, as do the star-shaped perforations on the tongue. Finally, purple laces, an ode to “Purple Rain” and dyed soles bring this Dunk to a close.
If you like the look of the First Avenue x Nike SB Dunk Low “Prince” then sit tight. As for now, there’s not much in terms of release information on this crazy SB. All we do know is that these are going to be a big hit amongst sneakerheads and Prince fans alike. Check out the first images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Dunks.
