One of the most talked about upcoming collabs for 2023 has to be Fear of God’s take on the adidas Basketball line. After a few leaked samples – quickly disowned by Jerry Lorenzo – we’re finally getting an idea of how the revamped line is taking shape.
Back in April, Fear of God put on their first-ever fashion show at the Hollywood Bowl, showcasing its Autumn/Winter 2023. Amidst this star-studded afair, one key attraction stood out, Jerry Lorenzo’s new FoG Athletics x adidas pieces.
One of the biggest reveals was a new, currently unnamed basketball shoe, worn on stage by Pusha T himself. The shoe is made with Lorenzo’s signature blend of futurism and minimalism, and comes in a number of monochromatic colourways. The show also revealed a tonne of luxurious apparel pieces, elevating classic Three Stripe looks.
In addition to new silhouettes and apparel, we’ve recently gotten a look at a reworked pair of adidas basketball classics. This year, the adidas Rivalry has made a comeback, capitalising on the 80s b-ball trend. Now, we’ve caught a glimpse of a FoG Rivalry Low done in a sleek white upper with the Three Stripes blending in at the sides, and a thick rubber sole underneath. The lesser-known Metro Attitude High also gets a similar treatment, this time with what looks like an off-white suede.
The FoG Athletics collab has been in the works since Lorenzo left Nike for adidas back in 2020. Needless to say, seeing the new Athletics lineup finally take shape is a huge event. Following Kanye’s industry-shifting departure from adidas last year (stay tuned for more news on that), it looks like Fear of God is looking to take centre stage.
