It is safe to say that Daniel Arsham is one of the most widely respected artists on the planet. His obsession with creating a “future archaeology” has helped gain him fans such as Pharrell Williams, James Franco and Ronnie Fieg. Of course, his notable collaborations with Dior and adidas have also helped turn him into a streetwear icon. Now he has something special lined up for Pokémon fans around the world.
After announcing the unexpected collaboration with Uniqlo and Pokémon last month, fans have been waiting for the capsule collection to drop. Delving deep into the Pokémon archives, Arsham has brought 90s nostalgia into the 21st century. However, he has one more Pokémon product set to drop that has us all excited.
Building on the BLUE CRYSTALIZED series, Arsham will release an eroded Pikachu figurine later today. The nearly one foot tall figurine is cast in a light blue resin and features aluminium oxide materials. Of course, the instantly recognisable crystallisation can be seen throughout this model. Eroded sections help to create this “future archaeology” as Arsham puts it and found on this entire piece.
If you’re looking to cop one of these today, good luck. Limited to just 500 pieces worldwide, this is a serious Pokémon collector’s item. Check out the images below and let us know if you plan on going for this.
