Sneaker collaborations help to keep the industry fresh. Whether its high fashion takes on classic silhouettes or just a fun partnership between two brands, collaborative footwear is an important part of the sneaker space. Sometimes, however, less really is more. Over the past year, Alife and adidas have churned out two colourways of the Nizza Hi. However, it doesn’t look like the collaboration is going anywhere any time soon.
After being introduced by adidas in 1975, the Nizza quickly gained popularity amongst early sneakerheads. Adding to its arsenal of Nizza Hi collaborations, Alife has gone for two juxtaposing colourways of the vintage style model. Draping both in canvas, Alife has opted for a more neutral black and a bold yellow. A cream rubber sole unit makes its way around the sneaker, whilst a large “ALIFE” logo can be seen between the midsole and upper.
More subtle details can also be seen on this adidas Nizza, including script-laden shoelaces. The dates “1999” and “2020” have also been included on the toes, referencing the year Alife was founded and its journey to now. Keeping things simple, an adidas Trefoil is used on the tongue, whilst silver eyestays and white laces bring the sneaker to a close.
If you’re looking to get your hands on these, you don’t have long to wait. The Alife x adidas Nizza Hi collaboration drops this Friday at select retailers. Estimated to cost €100, this is a nice basic pair to add to any rotation. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll cop.
