Born in 1996, Concepts has been key to ensuring the sneaker scene succeeds in its home town of Boston. Over the past few years, we’ve seen some seriously good collaborations from Concepts and adidas Originals. The two have worked on a number of high profile sneakers, with a particular penchant for the adidas ZX line, with its latest collab being no different. Now, it looks like the two are teaming up once more for a sneaker inspired by marathons.
Taking the familiar adidas ZX9000, Concepts has applied a silver leather finish over the entire shoe. Why you ask? Well, as a Bostonian brand, Concepts drew inspiration from the silver recovery blankets wrapped around athletes after they have finished the race. The silver leather is contrasted by a tricolour set of stripes, dividing this shiny sneaker nicely.
Additional translucent overlays appear on the upper, whilst a blue cage wraps around the heel with matching eyestays. A Torsion sole unit ensures that this shoe is also going to be comfortable as well as stylish. Other notable features on this sneaker include the “Concepts” branding on the shoe as well as co-branding on the tongue.
If you do like the look of these upcoming Concepts x adidas ZX sneakers, then there’s some good news. The shoe is set to drop on September 6th and 12th for €140. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll add these to your rotation.
