When rumours that Stussy would be working with Nike surfaced back in December, the sneaker world got excited. After a long hiatus, the two brands were finally working together again. The choice of silhouette, the Air Zoom Spiridon Caged, was also coming back after a long absence. Thankfully, the wait to cop is almost over.
A classic Nike tracksuit features co-branded logos, with Stussy using Nike’s typography for added effect. An equally as slick crewneck features Swooshes around the neckline, giving a subtle addition to the piece. In terms of accessories, a large cobranded black bag is also on offer in this drop. However, the real star of the show is, of course, the sneakers.
Two distinct colourways are in the works giving sneakerheads a tough choice to make. First off, we have the Fossil; a well balanced earthy tone shoe draped in durable canvas and mesh. The shoe features strong like rope laces and is hit with black accents. A black Swoosh on the side and toe box gives a well-balanced branding to the sneaker. On the back, a Stussy logo can be seen, with a cream and black midsole unit creating a nice shoe all round.
The second colourway is a hark back to the early noughties that this Nike sneaker thrived in. A contrasting black and silver mesh covers the shoe, with a silver cage wrapped around it. Silver laces, a set of black Swooshes and a crisp white midsole balance the shoe nicely. The white midsole, complete with black cushioning, is a nice addition to the sneaker and rounds it off well.
