After months of speculation, adidas have announced plans to release their stock of Yeezy products. Following the termination of the deal with Ye after his string of antisemitic statements, adidas did suggest that they planned to sell these products, as they are the sole copyright holders of most of the Yeezy designs.
However, for the longest time there was little news on the subject. Some even believed adidas planned on destroying their warehoused stock, valued at $1.3 billion. But now the news has finally dropped and we’ve got a solid list of what’s coming this summer.
The planned lineup covers a wide range of the Yeezy catalogue, starting off with the long-awaited restock of the Yeezy Boost 350 V1 ‘Pirate Black’. 350 V2 restocks include the Onyx and Zebra colourways, as well as the new Carbon Beluga colourway.
On the chunkier side of things, the Yeezy 500 Utility Black is back. There’s also the 700 V1 ‘Salt’ and 700 V2 ‘Tephra’. Fitting for a summer release, there’s also a few Foam Runner colourways, as well as an eye-catching Azure pair of Yeezy Slides.
The return of Yeezy may come as a shock given the controversy surrounding Ye and his fallout with adidas. It has also been announced that a portion of the profits will be donated to organisations supporting the fight against discrimination. However, Ye is still entitled to his 15% commission.
