Earlier this week, Teddy Santis took to Instagram to tease a new collaboration between Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance. Shortly after, a promo video and lookbook of this collab went up on ALD’s site.
This May, Santis released his debut collection as the creative director behind New Balance’s Made in USA line. For this latest Aimé Leon Dore collab, things take a turn as the New York-based brand takes on New Balance’s Made in UK staple, the 991.
The promo video takes place on the streets of London, with a mob of blokecore fits rocking the new 991s. The two colourways of the Aimé Leon Dore 991s come dressed in smooth, light brown leather or grey pigskin suede, with green leather accents over the white mesh panels.
The shoebox also reads “Made in England, designed for Mulberry Street”, celebrating ALD’s first Made in UK collab. The campaign also features Arsenal and England star Bukayo Saka fronting the collection’s terrace looks, including tracksuits, football tees, and scarves.
The 991 wasn’t the only shoe teased, there’s also the much-loved basketball silhouette, the 550, once again getting the ALD treatment. So far there’s only one photo teasing two new colourways, solid forest green and navy leather panels, each sitting over cream mesh panels.
The collection is set to drop this Friday at 11:AM on Aimé Leon Dore’s website. For more news stay tuned to KLEKTIVE, and head over to KLEKT for previous NB x ALD releases.
