Sabastian Sawe made history at the 2026 London Marathon, being the first runner to cover the 42.195km run in under 2 hours with a record-breaking time of 1:59:30. Not only did he make history, but Sawe also gave us a glimpse into the future, wearing the as-of-yet unreleased adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3.
Unreleased and already breaking records, the third entry in adidas’ ultra-premium running line is set to drop this week on 30 April for €500. The Adizero line is no stranger to making marathon history. Haile Gebrselassie set back-to-back records at the 2007 and ‘08 Berlin Marathons, wearing Adizero models in both and the debut Adios model in the latter.
The Pro Evo 3, like Sawe, has broken another record. Coming in at under 100g, the shoe is billed as being the lightest Adizero model ever. The stripped-back upper is made with super-lightweight textiles and synthetics, while the sole features a winning combination of Lightstrike Pro Evo foam and durable Continental rubber. Lightweight, sleek, and premium: the Pro Zero 3 is looking like the definitive shoe for serious runners.
