To mark the 40th anniversary of the Air Max franchise in 2027, the Swoosh is set to launch the Air Max ‘Lost & Found’ Pack, a three-shoe collection inspired by archive samples and unreleased prototypes. For this pack, Nike has reimagined some of its most iconic Air Max designs and colourways as if forgotten sample pairs had finally been rediscovered in the Beaverton vaults.
The collection features three legends: the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, and Air Max 95. Each pair draws heavily from its original launch colourway while introducing subtle tweaks that make them feel like alternate-history versions of the classics. It's a concept that echoes the hugely successful ‘Lost & Found’ Air Jordan 1 from 2022, but this time the spotlight belongs to Nike's revolutionary Air Max line.
Leading the pack is the Air Max 1, which riffs on the iconic ‘Sport Red’ colourway. An off-white leather upper is paired with University Red mudguards, while unexpected Royal Blue accents on the tongue, eyelets, and outsole give the shoe the appearance of an early sample that never made it into production. It's instantly familiar, yet refreshingly different.
The Air Max 90 takes a similar approach. Inspired by the legendary ‘Infrared', the pair features faded midsoles, lightly scuffed mudguards, and vintage-style detailing that creates the illusion of a shoe that's been sitting untouched in Nike's archives for decades. The result is one of the cleanest reinterpretations of an Air Max icon in years.
Rounding out the collection is arguably the standout: the Air Max 95. The classic grey gradient returns, but subtle orange accents on the lace loops and visible Air units replace the familiar Volt hits, while a black interior gives Sergio Lozano's masterpiece a fresh new personality without losing the DNA that made the original ‘Neon’ legendary.
The Nike Air Max ‘Lost & Found’ Pack is expected to release in Spring 2027, likely around Air Max Day in March. As far as Air Max Day releases go, this might be one of the best we’ve seen in a minute. Celebrating three of Nike’s most enduring models, and opening the door for a wave of non-Jordan Lost & Found collections.
