We’re back with another instalment of our 5Qs and 5As interview series, this time with one of our most treasured Team KLEKT members: Luca Cino. As one of Italy’s most well-respected sneaker content creators, Luca has garnered a strong fan base in the Italian sneaker community. His digital content has allowed him to gain over 100k subscribers on YouTube in just two years. With that in mind, we were delighted to welcome Luca to Team KLEKT late last year.
Here, you’ll be able to find out more about how Luca began his digital content creating career. Splitting his time between Vercelli and Milan, Luca gives us an insight into the Italian sneaker community, his opinions on why Milan is a central hub for Italian sneaker culture and, most importantly, his top three Air Jordan 1s. Check out the full interview below and make sure you head over to Luca’s Instagram where there will be an exclusive offer to use on KLEKT this weekend!
Hey, thanks for sitting down with us today. Can you please introduce yourself?
Hey guys, my name is Luca Cino and I’m a 24-year-old digital content creator with a focus on streetwear and sneakers. I produce many different kinds of content across various social media platforms but it all began for me in 2018 on YouTube. I started sharing my passion by publishing my own limited sneakers as well as tutorial videos on how to cop sneakers. Since then, it’s been a pretty fun journey! (Photo 1 and 2)
You are sharing a lot of sneaker content on social media to a very big community. Can you tell us why digital sneaker content in Italy has proved so popular?
The Italian sneaker community is growing more and more. In the last two years, the community has gotten much bigger thanks to several limited releases. In my opinion, Milan plays a crucial role in the whole of Italy’s sneaker culture. Secondly, Milan is one of the most important fashion cities in the world and the importance of sneakers here permeates throughout the city’s urban environment.
Besides the digital community how would describe the Italian sneaker community?
The Italian community is also just as strong offline as it is online. Every year there are sneakers trade events in all of Italy where thousands of fellow sneakerheads can meet, make friendships, and form future projects and ideas together. It’s a great community to be a part of.
We know you are a big fan of the Air Jordan 1 so could you tell us your top three favourite pairs?
Yes, it’s no secret that I love the Air Jordan 1! They go perfectly with every outfit. That’s a tough question, but I think my top three would be the “Black Toe”, “Chicago” and Off-White “Chicago” in that order.
What have you got on your feet today?
Today I am wearing the “Obsidian” Air Jordan 1!
