What’s up?! This is Mathilde & Steven, a sneakerhead couple from Le Mans, a small city located 200 kilometres from Paris!
We’ve always loved sneakers but really started collecting kicks and creating sneaker content on Instagram like 2 and a half years ago (by the way make sure to follow us on IG @stevennjike). Heard you wanted to know our current Top 5? Let’s get right into it!
Mathilde’s Top 5:
Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Lucky Green’ (2020)
Steven offered me this pair for Christmas in 2020 as one of my very first Jordan 1 High OG and I just feel like they were perfect for the occasion; not to mention the quality of the pair and the details! These definitely have a special place in my heart
Air Jordan 1 Mid SE ‘Lightbulb’ (2020)
This is my first pair of Jordans so I had to throw these on my list! First I truly love pastel colours, so I feel like this colourway was made for me and the materials on these are really nice. Second, I feel like Mids are slept on even though there are some really awesome colourways out there! Don’t buy the hype, buy what you like!
Yeezy Boost 350 V2 ‘Zebra’
The funny thing is at first I didn’t like Yeezys at first, but Steven kept telling me how comfy they were so I decided to give them a try and my first pair was this iconic colourway! So yeah these are my 1st Yeezys, and yeah Steven was right: they are super comfortable!
Air Jordan WMNS 4 ‘Rasta’ (2020)
“Not only did you knock me down, you stepped on my brand-new white Air Jordans that I just bought!” Remember that quote from Buggin’ Out in the legendary Spike Lee movie Do the Right Thing? Well, these 4s are the WMNS version that was released in April 2020 to pay homage to the original pair that Buggin’ Out was rocking in the movie! I had to have these!
Nike Air Max 90 NIC ‘One World’ (2018)
These are from Nike’s ‘One World’ Pack that Celebrated the 2018 World Cup! I chose to put these AM90s in my top 5 because I love the message of unity that this pair carries with all these flags from across the world!
Steven’s Top 5:
Air Jordan 11 Retro Bred (2012)
Let’s begin with my favourite pair of ALL TIME! No introduction needed: the Retro 11 Breds or Playoffs! Jordan 11s are definitely my favourite silhouette and this is definitely the dopest colourway in my opinion! Just look at this piece of art!
Air Jordan 5 Quai 54 White University Red Black (2021)
I love basketball, I love Jordans, and I live in France, so I had to throw these joints in the mix! The colourway, the details, the laces, love everything about this pair!
Air Jordan 13 Flint (2010)
Amongst the pairs that were never worn by MJ in a game but still ended up being one the greatest colourways ever, Retro 13 Flints are on the top of the list in my opinion! Another thing is I feel like 13s are one of the most comfiest Retro Jordans, so I definitely enjoy rocking ’em!
Air Jordan 4 Retro PSG Paris Saint-Germain (2020)
The Jordan 4 is definitely one of my favourite silhouettes and even though I’m not into soccer at all, one thing for sure is that they nailed this collab! The colour blocking, the grey nubuck with the wine and black, and the details like the little “PANAME” tag on the side made me fall in love with this pair!
Air Jordan 3 ‘UNC’ (2020)
Had to put a UNC colourway in my top 5 and since Retro 3s are amongst my favourite Jordan silhouettes, it was only right to give this banger its flowers! Fun fact: I bought these as soon as they were released and yet I kept these on ice till this day!
