There is no denying that fragment design is one of the hottest brands in streetwear. Since its inception in 90s by Hiroshi Fujiwara, fragment design has worked with almost every major label on the planet. Its collaboration history extends from Moncler to Nike and nearly everyone in between. Of course, the luxury streetwear label is also used to working with unlikely brands, the latest of which is luxury Swiss watchmaker, TAG Heuer.
After a sneak preview from Fujiwara from Instagram yesterday, the official collaboration between fragment design x TAG Heuer was announced this morning. Following on from the successful 2018 Carrera-02 collab, the latest model to be given the fragment design treatment is the C-Case. Taking inspiration from motor racing, fragment design has referenced C-Case designs from the 1960s and 1970s.
Limited to just 500 pieces, the fragment design x TAG Heuer takes a simple barebones approach. A black opaline dial features two embossed sub counters and is complete with white lettering on the face and logos. A subtle fragment design thunderbolt can be seen at the top, whilst “FRAGMENT” sits at the bottom right. However, it is the back of this watch that has really got people talking.
The back case features a circular red sapphire crystal window. This deep red back features the fragment design logo as well as an engraved limited-edition number from 1 to 500. Of course, the luxury details don’t stop there. A brand new five-row steel bracelet with a butterfly folding clasp is an exclusive addition to this collaboration.
As you would expect, none of this comes cheap. The watch retails for a cool £5,050 and is available to preorder now. Check out the images below and let us know if you’d cop.
