In the world of anime, there are few franchises as successful as Doraemon. After launching as an advert strip in 1969, Doraemon quickly made its way into popular Japanese culture. Since 1970, the cat robot has become an institution in the extensive world of anime. With the series thriving, you can be sure that there will be another 50 years of the Doraemon. Now, Nike is set to honour the five-decade achievement with a special Doraemon themed SB Dunk High.
Although details are still just coming through, we do have a detailed look at the upcoming sneaker. The Nike SB Dunk High “Doraemon” utilises a red, white and blue colour scheme. A white tumbled leather base allows the blue suede overlays to work nicely. In keeping with the Doraemon theme, red leather Swoosh is contrasted with a yellow “Nike SB” tongue tag for good measure. Thick red rope laces, as well as a white midsole and blue outsole, bring this anime-themed Nike SB Dunk to a close.
As for now, there is no official release date on the upcoming Nike SB Dunk High “Doraemon,” but you can expect the sneaker to drop later this year. For now, you’ll have to just sit tight. Check out the images below and let us know if you’re feeling these Nike SB Dunks.
