For nearly 20 years, Nike and Stüssy have cooked up some of the best collaborative sneakers in history. Since 2002, the two have been creating crazy Huaraches, Blazers and Air Max, but this year things got just that little bit better. The Stüssy x Nike Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 was arguably one of the best releases of 2020 so far. However, it doesn’t look like things are stopping there. We now have official images of the upcoming Stüssy x Nike Zoom Spiridon Kukini Cage 2.
Whilst the name may not roll off the tongue that easily, there is some method in the madness. This sneaker is effectively a hybrid of two classic Nike models: the Kukini and the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2. Elements of both distinguished silhouettes can be seen throughout, such as the plastic cage of the Kukini and the sole of the Spiridon.
A neoprene upper sets the basis of this sneaker, with the cage wrapping round the entire Spiridon. The mesh sock liner is contrasted with a pull tab, making it easy to slip on and off. You will see that there is no laces on this upcoming Stüssy x Nike sneaker, something that sets it apart from the earlier release this year. A small Stüssy logo can be seen on the tongue, whilst a Swoosh is hidden on the midsection.
Fortunately, these Stüssy Spiridons will be releasing later this month with an estimated retail price of €150. Check out images of the “Black/Volt” colourway below and let us know if you’re feeling these.
