It is tough to imagine what the world of sneakers would look like without Nike Air Max. Since its introduction in 1987, Air Max has continued to push the boundaries of comfort in footwear. There are a few models that stand out in the Air Max line such as the 1, 90 and 95. Well, Amsterdam-based denim manufacturer DENHAM has been teasing Nike collaborations on all three of the aforementioned models. Thankfully, it looks as though we finally have a release date for the DENHAM x Nike Air Max pack.
Arguably the most coveted pair of the three is the Air Max 1. Varying shades of blue suede and denim come together to form a subtle yet luxurious sneaker. On the upper, a well-balanced combination of traditional Japanese Boro stitching contrasts against a denim toe. A set of white laces works with a set of matching laces, whilst a cream tongue tab is paired with a cream heel. Of course, the intricate detailing doesn’t just stop there.
Next up is the Air Max 95 which puts a subtle twist on the famous “Neon” colourway. Multiple shades of grey denim on each panel, keeping the familiar white mesh and volt accents on show. A beige suede heel tab replaces the traditional 3M reflective detail. The black tongue and midsole create a nice touch, with a tan leather heel.
Finally, we have the Air Max 90 which is a premium take on the “Infrared” colourway. Multiple denim layers can be seen throughout the shoe, with shades of navy and black taking precedence. A cream suede has been used on the toe, with Infrared accents on the lace eyelets, tongue and air unit. All of the sneakers will use “DENHAM THE JEAN MAKER” on the insole, as well as custom insoles featuring scissors.
For now, the sneakers are set to release in September though an exact date has yet to be confirmed. Take a closer look at all three DENHAM x Nike Air Max below and let us know which is your favourite.
