Late last year, rumours started that the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” would be making a return. First released back in 2006, the CLOT Air Max 1 has remained something of a grail for sneaker collectors for over 15 years. Although there was little to no information surrounding the retro, that didn’t stop footwear fans from getting excited. Well, thanks to DJ Khaled, we now have our first official look at the 2021 CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” retro.
Previewed by DJ Khaled via his Instagram, the Nike family member and avid sneaker collector shot a detailed video of the CLOT AM1. Centred around the concept of “Qi” that makes up a pillar of traditional Chinese medicine. Much like the OG pair, the retro features the same combination of bright orange and red to create a memorable sneaker. A transparent toe box, complete with a foot reflexology insole, has also been used creating a nice contrast to the faux snakeskin and ostrich panels. The translucent sole unit also bears the foot silhouette, bringing this perfect AM1 collab to a close.
According to DJ Khaled, only “two pairs” of the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” have been gifted so far. With that in mind, it wouldn’t surprise us if we’ve got to wait a little while longer to cop these. As Air Max Day edges closer once again, hopefully, we don’t have to wait too long. Check out the images and video below and let us know if you’ll cop these Nike Air Max 1s.
