All the way back in 2020, fragment design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara was spotted donning a never before seen sacai x Nike LDWaffle. As it turned out, it was, in fact, a collaboration between the three powerhouse fashion brands. Over the past few months, there’s been little to no info on the upcoming release. However, that now all looks to be changing. Rumours are circulating that the fragment design x sacai x Nike LDWaffle could drop this spring.
Whilst there’s no concrete information surrounding this release, the rumour alone is enough to get us excited. Opting for a simple take on Chitose Abe’s futuristic design, Fujiwara has kept things clean. A combination of navy and white adorns the entire sneaker, covering everything from the mesh, suede and leather. The instantly recognisable double-stacked detailing of Abe’s creation has remained intact, with Swooshes, tongues, soles and laces all coming as standard.
However, there are a few subtle additions to this sacai LDWaffle include the use of a fragment stamp on the midsection; a simple calling card from Fujiwara’s streetwear label. On the tongue, the fragment thunderbolt can be seen and replaces the usual “sacai” tag. As for now, we’re yet to get more images of this collab, but we already know this is going to be a big release in 2021.
If you like the look of the fragment design x sacai x Nike LDWaffle, then sit tight. No further information on a release date has surfaced just yet, but keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks. Check out the first images below and let us know if you’ll cop these LDWaffles.
