Originally rumoured back at the start of 2020, the Kasina x Nike Dunk has been slowly building in hype. As a former professional skater, Kasina founder Eunhyuk Lee knows only too well the importance of the Dunk in skating history. Over the past nine months, sneakerheads everywhere have been waiting to get a glimpse of the Kasina Dunk. Just last week, we were given our first real look at the upcoming sneakers thanks to sneaker sources. Now, we have our first official look at the shoes.
The two sneakers are already causing quite a lot of attention in the community. Kasina has looked back its own history in order to create an emotional story behind each shoe. Up first is the “Neptune Green” colourway, which has its roots in the signage the links Busan to Seoul on the Gyeongbu Expressway. A combination of light green suede works with white leather to create a nice colour pop. Attached to the lace eyelet is a hangtag that is shaped like a motorway sign, a subtle detail on this Dunk that you could easily miss. Embroidered on the heels are the words “Busan” and “Seoul” for added effect.
Completing this well-balanced pack is the “Industrial Blue.” Referencing Korea’s public transport network, the Industrial Blue Kasina x Nike Dunk is equally as good. A white leather base is accented by rich navy suede overlays. The use of a slick gold Swoosh across the midsection is also a nice touch, with a white midsole and black outsole bringing this shoe to a close. Both sneakers feature “Kasina” written on the tongue as well as custom insoles and packaging.
If you like the look of the Kasina x Nike Dunk sneakers, then there’s bad news. As for now, the shoes will only release on Kasina and SNKRS in Asia. We do not have any confirmed information that these Dunks will get a wider release but stay tuned to KLEKT where we’ll keep you up to date.
