It should come as no surprise that the sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle has been a smash hit this year. Although the sneaker was delayed multiple times, the effect its had on the sneaker community is profound. After the success of the “Game Royal” and “Black/White” colourways, it looks like that’s not it for the partnership this year. In fact, we now have confirmation that two more sacais are set to drop before the end of the year; “Villain Red” and “Tour Yellow”.
As you’d expect, these next two pairs are already looking like a must cop for many. Taking the same double-detailing as the sacai x Nike LDWaffle, this is a smash hit collab once again from Chitose Abe. The two pairs feature the same double Swooshes, tongues, laces, and sole units to create a stacked silhouette. A combination of mesh, suede and leather runs through the entire sneaker, showcasing sacai’s love of premium materials with athletic comfort.
Up first, the “Villain Red” Vaporwaffle offers a perfect tonal sneaker for the winter months. Rich burgundy is paired with a soft cream tint to create a nice balance at the base. Splashes of green on the upper add an eye-catching pop, though the slight purple tint on the Swoosh helps to add a certain depth to this sneaker. Not to be outdone, the “Tour Yellow” pair is just as eye-catching. Constructed in bold green and yellow, the pair uses monochromatic accents to allow the colours to flourish. An off white midsole unit gives this shoe a vintage Nike look, with the black midsole rounding off a perfectly executed sneaker.
