Love it or hate it, the Nike Air Huarache has been a part of sneaker culture for 30 years. After having a brief spike in popularity in 2012-2015, the Huarache was worn by almost every sneakerhead on the planet. As the Tinker Hatfield shoe turns 30 this year, Nike is already looking to bring back some classic colourways. Whilst there is no concrete information just yet, it’s looking as though the 2000 Stüssy x Nike Air Huarache pairs could be making a return.
Originally released in 2000, the Stüssy Air Huaraches were only available at the London flagship store. Dropping in “Desert Oak” and “Dark Olive”, the colourways became grails for many Huarache collectors. Yesterday during its SS21 preview, Stüssy revealed the two retro pairs of Nike Huaraches as part of its collection. Featuring the same iconic colourways and materials, the two Huaraches quickly caught the attention of the sneaker world. This will be the first time that the Stüssy x Air Huarache will be making a return, a significant moment for OG collectors.
Right now there’s not a lot of info regarding the Stüssy x Nike Air Huarache release. However, a Spring 2021 drop date has been reported by sneaker sources. This could mean that the “Desert Oak” colourway could launch as soon as February 12th with the “Dark Olive” releasing later. Check out the first images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Stüssy Nikes.
