Late last year the sneaker community went crazy for the Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1 drop. Continuing the already successful partnership between Stüssy and Nike, the AF1 release was the cherry on top of a powerhouse year for the collaborative relationship. Selling out almost immediately, these were a must-have for sneakerheads. However, it doesn’t look as though Stüssy is done just yet. In fact, a limited run of hand-dyed Stüssy AF1s is dropping this week.
Although it’s come as a surprise, it’s one that we certainly welcome. According to Stüssy’s website, each pair has been hand-dyed in Los Angeles by Lookout & Wonderland; an art practice based in plant colour, medicine and fibre. The result is a set of Air Force 1s prepared in tannins, and slowly dyed with plants chosen for their colour and skin-soothing medicinal properties. Whilst this may seem slightly excessive, there is some method in the madness. All dyes used by Lookout & Wonderland are natural dyes which have been ethically harvested and chosen to represent each of Stüssy’s world tour cities.
If you like the look of the upcoming Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Hand-Dyed” then good luck. The upcoming Air Force 1s are set to release in limited quantities on Friday 29th. As for now, there’s no official retail price, but we’d expect these to be a little more than the retail of €130. Check out the official image below and let us know if you’d cop the Stüssy AF1s.
