It’s hard to beat a pair of Nike Air Max 90s. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally called the Air Max 3, the sneaker is a key figure in the history of air. With the Air Max 90 turning 30 this year, the silhouette is seeing a massive return in popularity thanks to Nike. New colourways, reimagined classics and a string of reissues have given sneakerheads something to get excited about. However, there is even more good news.
Originally reported to drop on Air Max Day, the 2020 Dave’s Quality Meats x Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon” will now launch during the Holiday’s. The sneaker, which was originally released in 2004, is inspired by Dave Ortiz’ years in the New York meatpacking district. In fact, the streetwear boutique has more of a butcher’s shop aesthetic rather than that of a sneaker store.
Called the “Bacon” for obvious reasons, the DQM x Nike Air Max 90 features various shades of red, pink, brown and white to look like a bacon strip. The premium leather and suede used throughout are what sets this sneaker apart from the rest. Having not been released in OG form since 2004, the 16-year wait is now finally almost over.
Take a look at the OG pair below and let us know if you’ll cop the DQM x Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon” retro when it drops.
