Few sneakers are as timeless as the Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared”. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally called the Nike Air Max III, the shoe has become a cultural icon in its own right. As the silhouette celebrates its 30th birthday this year, sneakerheads everywhere have been patiently awaiting the news of the “Infrared” retro. Although it’s been pretty quiet from Nike, that looks to be changing this month, with the shoe releasing in the US today.
You would be right in thinking that this is pretty big news for the sneaker community. Nike has stayed true to the original on this release and for good reason. Constructed with a white mesh, the upper is paired with light and dark grey suede with a black leather mudguard running throughout. The “Infrared” accents that adorn the lace eyelets, air unit, sock liner, heel tab and tongue give this shoe its name, but its the subtle details that make this shoe. A small stitch line can be seen across the midsection – a detail that was used on the OG model. Bringing this shoe to a close is a vintage-style box, rounding off a perfect re-release.
The good news is that you won’t have to wait long to cop the Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared”. As it stands, the pair will release on November 9th in the USA and November 28th in the EU. A retail price of €140 has been set, making this an affordable retro to cop. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll grab these Air Max 90s.
