There is no denying that the Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” is one of the greatest sneakers of all time. Originally called the Air Max III until the 2000 retro, the shoe has remained a fan favourite amongst sneakerheads from all over the world. With the silhouette celebrating its 30th birthday this year, Nike has ensured that it brings back a number of classic colourways and iconic pairs. However, all will be eclipsed by the return of the OG “Infrared.”
After months of speculation, we now have official images and confirmation that the “Infrared” Air Max 90 will be returning next month. The sneaker hardly needs an introduction, but we feel it right to give it one. Constructed in a combination of mesh, grey nubuck and black leather, the “Infrared” gets its name from the bright red accents on the midsole, sole, heel and tongue. The sneaker uses white, grey and black as its base, allowing the pinkish-red hues to shine.
As you can probably imagine, this is going to get OG sneakerheads excited. Nike has gone back to the original shape for this retro for the first time in its history. A stitch across the Swoosh is one indicator, whilst the bigger panelling is another detail that stays true to the 1990 version. For now, the one thing that we do know is that we need at least three pairs of these AM90s.
If you like the look of the Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” then good luck. The shoe is set to drop on November 9th for around €140. Check out the official images from Nike below and let us know if you’ll cop these Air Max 90s.
